Have you ever thought that an ordinary piece of soil, after being kneaded by both hands, can become a unique piece of art? The Ming Dynasty Shi Dabin purple clay teapot is one of the treasures of the Jincheng Museum. We use the "Shi Dabin purple clay teapot" as a handmade pottery teapot template to revitalize and integrate cultural relics into social education classrooms. On the morning of Saturday, February 22nd, a social education activity called "Enjoying Pottery with Mud" was held. Using mud as a medium, a dialogue spanning thousands of years was conducted with ancient people, allowing students to experience the profound cultural heritage of pottery through hands-on practice.

When visiting our museum's basic display, the guide focused on explaining the pottery unearthed from different periods in the Jincheng area, giving students a preliminary understanding of the local ceramic development history. Subsequently, using the "Cultural and Museum Classroom", the system consolidated and learned cultural relics knowledge such as the history of pottery development and the production process of pottery, providing theoretical support for the following interactive activities.

The educational personnel demonstrated the basic techniques of making handmade pottery on site and led the students to make handmade pots together. From kneading clay, shaping to finishing, each step showcases the unique charm of pottery making, allowing everyone to deeply experience the exquisite skills of ancient craftsmen.

As an important component of human civilization, pottery carries tens of thousands of years of history and cultural accumulation, witnessing the historical process of humanity from ignorance to civilization. This pottery experience activity allowed participants to experience the joy of hand crafting pottery, establish a three-dimensional understanding of pottery culture, and bring new vitality and vigor to ancient handicrafts in the new era.
